Fall Fun at Starved Rock State Park

Utica is a wonderful place to be when fall comes around. This year celebrate fall with a trip to Starved Rock Park to see unforgettable foliage and treat your family to a fun Halloween outing. The park is just a stone's throw away from our resort. After a morning hike, you can come back and relax at the indoor water park or enjoy a meal at one of our restaurants. Here are just a few of the upcoming events at Starved Rock State Park:

Fall Colors Weekend - October 15 & 16
Don't miss the spectacular foliage of Northern Illinois. You can join park guides for a walk to view this amazing show that nature puts on every year. Taking place right around peak season for fall colors, this hike takes you to beautiful overlook canyons to experience the bright colors of the trees of Starved Rock State Park. Along the way, the guides will point out interesting facts about local history and geology. The hikes begin at 9 am from the visitor center.

Haunted Halloween Night Hikes and Storytelling - October 29
Bring the whole family for a daring walk through the park to kick off your Halloween Weekend. Join the park naturalist on an unforgettable adventure after dark. As you make your way through the woods, you'll hear haunted tales and spooky stories about Starved Rock State Park. The hikes leave from the visitor center at 5 pm and 6 pm and story time starts at 7 pm.
