Local writer and historian Billy Myers will share intriguing tales of from the Illinois Valley. Gather around a master storyteller to learn about the legendary tales that make Starved Rock a special destination in Illinois lore. Holiday Storytelling with Billy Myers kicks off at 1:30 pm.
Hiking on January 1st
Kick off your New Year with a hike through the spectacular scenery of Starved Rock State Park. You can explore 13 miles of well-marked trails. There is hiking for all levels, so you can bring the kids on a fun adventure. The Starved Rock Visitor's Center is open daily from 9 am to 4 pm. It's even open New Year's Day!
