Every winter, Starved Rock State Park becomes the temporary home to thousands of beautiful Bald Eagles. The peak season is January and February when they start their migration journey and settle in the scenic Illinois landscape. One of the best ways to see these majestic animals is with the Bald Eagles Trolley Tour. Located less than five minutes from our family resort, an eagle tour at Starved Rock State Park is guaranteed to be one of your highlights of winter. There's nothing like seeing America's most famous symbol in their natural habitat!
Led by an expert wildlife guide, you'll learn about the majestic Bald Eagle as you ride through the park. During the tour, keep your eyes peeled toward the horizon to catch the eagles in flight. Each tour kicks off with an eagle presentation at the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center. Tours leave every Monday and Wednesday at 11 am, Saturdays at 9 am and 11 am, or Sundays at 10:30 am. Every tour includes lunch either before or after your tour. On Sundays, you can dine on a delicious brunch before taking the trolley ride. The 2017 tours run through February 27th, and you can book your tickets online to reserve your space in advance. Tickets are $25 for adults ($32 for Sunday tours) and $20 for children.
