Visit the Reddick Mansion Over the Holidays!

If you've never heard the story of William Reddick and the Reddick Mansion of Ottawa, gather ‘round history lovers and curiosity seekers. This LaSalle County historical landmark is a favorite of tourists and locals and is host to vibrant events and an intriguing family history. William Reddick, a native of Ireland, built the three-story Italiante-style home in 1858 and lived in it with his wife and adopted daughter over the span of 30 years. Reddick was a respected businessman, politician and philanthropist who dedicated his life largely to educational endeavors in the community.


The twist to the story lies in this dark detail: within a span of four years, the entire family ceased to exist, each passing away within two years of each other. However, their ever-giving spirit is alive and well to this day in the well maintained and restored museum that also plays hosts to a myriad of bright and shining events such as the following, all happening in November and beyond:

This shimmering night will be filled with family-friendly fun and a drive-thru light display at LaSalle Rotary Park.


In addition to these special events, the mansion is open to the public from 11 a.m. - 3  p.m. on

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sunday.

It is closed on Tuesday.
